Two unique rooms with classic charm for your next event
The Clubhouse
In Philadelphia, it would be hard to find an eating and drinking club as unique or colorful as the Mask and Wig Club. The Clubhouse’s history traces back to the early 1800s, during which time it served successively as a church, as a stable and carriage house, and as dissecting rooms for Jefferson Medical College, before being acquired by Mask and Wig in 1894.
The Clubhouse, designed by noted architect Wilson Eyre, is home to a fine collection of early Maxfield Parrish artwork and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, its distinctive atmosphere remains unchanged, though modern amenities, such as air conditioning and an elevator, have been added to improve comfort and accessibility.
The Mask and Wig Clubhouse is available for rental year round. Named Philadelphia’s Best Adults Party Venue by Philadelphia Magazine, it is an ideal venue for any social or business gathering including meetings, weddings, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, receptions, concerts, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, and theatrical productions. The Clubhouse can accommodate groups from 40-250 people.
The Grille Room (Downstairs)
Located on the first floor, this rathskellar-style room is popular for cocktail parties and congenial luncheons or dinners. It is lined with hundreds of distinctive beer steins and amusing caricatures of Club members painted on dark wood paneling. The bar, fireplace, baby grand piano, and antler chandeliers complete the warm and inviting room.
The Grille Room can accommodate 90 people for a cocktail party or 40 people for a seated luncheon or dinner.
The Ned Rogers Theater (Upstairs)
Located on the second floor, this magnificent theater is admirably suited for receptions, business meetings, dining and dancing, as well as theatrical productions. An elevator to the second floor is available for those who require assistance.
The Ned Rogers Theater can accommodate 165 people for cocktail parties and theater-style seating or 125 people for a seated luncheon or dinner.
